Who I am
Hall Digital UK is run by me, Charlie Hall, as a sole trader based in Crewe, Cheshire. I'm responsible for the personal details described on this page. You can reach me on 07481 817498, by call or WhatsApp.
What details I collect
Only what you choose to give me, usually when you call, message me on WhatsApp or use the quote form:
- Your name, business name, and phone number or email
- What your business does, the areas you cover and what you'd like on your website
- Anything you send me for your site, such as photos, logos, prices and reviews
- If you become a customer, the details I need for invoices and payments
How the quote form works
When you press send on the quote form, your answers are sent to me through Netlify, the company that hosts this website. Netlify keeps a copy of the form in my account and emails it to me. I only use it to reply to you and put your free demo together. After sending, you can also choose to send the same details on WhatsApp, which is covered by WhatsApp's privacy policy.
Why I use your details
- To reply to you, build your free demo and give you a quote. This is a step you've asked for before any agreement.
- To build, host and update your website if you go ahead. This is needed for our agreement.
- To keep business and tax records. This is a legal obligation.
- To follow up once after a quote, or ask for a review after a job. This is in my legitimate interests, and you can tell me to stop at any time.
I don't sell your details, and I don't use them for advertising.
Website statistics (Google Analytics)
If you press "Accept" on the cookie message, the site uses Google Analytics to show me how people find and use it: things like which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are, what device they use, and how many tap the call or WhatsApp buttons. Google collects this using cookies and your IP address, and I only see it as statistics, not who you are. It's only turned on with your consent, and you can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. Google handles this data under its own terms and may process it outside the UK. See my cookie policy for the cookies it uses.
Website statistics (Metricool)
If you press "Accept", the site also tells Metricool about your visit (the page, the site you came from, your browser and your IP address) so I can see website visits alongside my social media in one place. It's only turned on with your consent, Metricool handles the data under its own terms and may process it outside the UK, and you can change your mind with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
Who else sees your details
I only share what's needed with the services I use to run the business:
- WhatsApp (Meta), when we message each other
- Netlify, which hosts this website and customer websites, and receives the quote form. Like most hosts, it may record technical details such as IP addresses to keep sites running and secure.
- Google Analytics and Metricool, only if you accept analytics cookies
- Google Fonts, which supplies the fonts on this site. See my cookie policy.
- My bank, for payments and invoices
Some of these companies may handle data outside the UK. When they do, they're responsible for protecting it under their own terms and the law.
How long I keep your details
If you get in touch but don't go ahead, I delete your enquiry details once they're no longer needed. If you become a customer, I keep your details while I'm looking after your website. I keep invoices and payment records for as long as HMRC requires, which for a sole trader is at least 5 years after the 31 January tax return deadline for that year.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- Show you the details I hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your details, unless I have to keep them, for example for tax records
- Stop contacting you, or stop using your details in a certain way
Just call or WhatsApp me on 07481 817498. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this policy
If anything changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
